I’m Here 2024 -short stay- Without Me
On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred in Japan. October of that year,I had the opportunityto do a short residency in Singapore and created this work alone. I decided to face my ownsound and create a work that is lightweight and above all, tough.As a touring musician, my priority was to get there. I wanted to make a sound in whateversituation I arrived in, and to make sure that I was there.For me, an installation does not require me to be there all the time. It was like a ceremony ofletting go of my sound.For the re-presentation of this work in 2024,10 years after its final location , I added a new title, "Without Me". Inthe past, when I installed a work, I always went to the place and took a lot of pictures on thespot. This time, however, I will not go to the venue. So there will be no broken suitcases that Iused to exhibit and no photographs that I used to take.The "I" in "I'm Here" without me can be said to be you who are listening to my sound that isplaying there now. Please enjoy the sound there whenever you like, as much as you like, and I willbe more than happy if you do.

2011年3月11日、日本で東日本大震災が起こった。その年の10月、シンガポールで短期滞在製作の機会を得た私は1人 でこの作品を作った。自分の音と向き合い、身軽で、そして何よりタフな作品を作ろうと思った。
ツアーミュージシャンの私にとって自分がそこに行くことが何よりも優先された。過酷な移動をこなし、到 着したその土地でどんな状況でも音を出すこと、そこに私が確実にいること。 そんな私にとってインスタレーションは私が常にそこにいる必要はない。それは自分の音を手放していく儀 式のようであった。
この作品を最終地から10年たった2024年に再発表するにあたり、新たにタイトルに“Without Me“と付け加えた。
こ れまで作品をインストールするのには必ず現場に行き、その場で多くの写真を撮影していた。
しかし今回は 会場に行かない。だから以前は展示していた壊れたスーツケースも撮影していた写真もない。 そんな私のいない“I’m Here“の“I“は、今そこで鳴っている私の音を聴いているあなたとも言えます。
どうか お好きな時に、お好きなだけ、そこにある音をお楽しみくだされば何よりです。

What is -short stay - ?
2011年10月に制作されたSachiko Mのサウンドインスタレーションシリーズ。時間差で録音された4つの音源が自然なランダムさで繰り返され、その音はCDに繋がれたイヤホンから再生される。イヤホンは耳に入れず、壁に打ちつけ、スピーカーとして鳴らす事でこの4つの音源の飽きのこない重なりを表現している。非常にシンプルで素朴なこの作品は、2012年～2014年に日本各地を巡回し旅を終えた。2022年、作品制作から10年後、音源をBandcampにて解放、購入者には4つの音源への限定レターを添えた。2024年、最終地巡回地から10年ぶりにya-festival（ドイツ、エッセン）にて再発表の機会を得た。
A series of sound installations by Sachiko M created in October 2011. Four sound sources recorded at different times are repeated in a natural randomness, and the sounds are played through earphones connected to a CD. The earphones are not placed in the ears, but are placed against the wall and played as speakers to express the continuous overlapping of the four sound sources. This very simple and rustic work toured Japan from 2012 to 2014, completing its travering. In 2022, 10 years after the creation of the work, the sound was released on Bandcamp with an exclusive letter to the four sound sources for the purchasers. 2024, 10 years after the last tour, the work had the opportunity to be presented again at ya-festival (Essen, Germany).

変わらない音を使い続けたサウンドインスタレーションを軸とし、制作風景、展示風景、会場周 辺などを撮影した写真による 展示は、巡回をしながら変化させて行く。変わる物と変わらない物が、それぞれの場所と人からの刺激による変化とともに旅を続けていき、同じ瞬間は2度とないというコンセプトに基づき6 ヶ所の滞在型巡回展をしてきた。
4つのCDプレーヤー
それぞれ25分、20分、15分、10分、8つのイヤホンはスピーカー代わり
この状態で鳴らされる為にだけ作られた音達が、自然なランダムさで、小さな音で、鳴る。
その「音たちの」空間ごと撮りためた写真達、形を変えながら旅をし続ける。
CDプレーヤーとイヤホン、破れたカーテン、写真達「記録と記憶」を全てトランクに入れて、そこにいる人達の為だけに旅をしつづける。
4 CD players, recorded 25 minutes, 20 minutes, 15 minutes, 10 minutes,
and 8 earphones are speaker substitutes, respectively.
The sound made for only this system for these spaces,
By natural randomness, it sounds to a small sound.
The photographs taken included space of the "sound" and were collected, it continues traveling with changing a form, and were accumulated.
All of CD players, earphones, the torn curtain, photographs, and "record and memory" are put into a suitcase, and it continues traveling only for people who are there.

シンガポールにて実際の展示場所で録音。録音されたCDR４つ。それぞれ、25分、20分、15分、10分。
4つのCDプレーヤーが付属のイヤホンによって鳴らされ、ループされ、廻り続ける。
イヤホンは、壁に打ち付けられ、スピーカーとして使用する事で、8つのスピーカーが織りなす
音の重なりを作る事が出来る。よって、イヤホンを耳に入れる事を禁じる。

2011年制作、2012年から1年半に渡り巡回して来たサウンドインスタレーション Sachiko M sound installation I'm Here -Short Stay- traveling exhibition 1日限りの凱旋イベント。これまで旅した作品を振り返るスライド映像「FINAL CALL」と実際に展示されていた痕跡を一日限り限定公開。ソロライブは会場のSUNDAY ISSUEと同じビル内10F (Creator's District 1002) にて、都心の夜景を背に。またこの巡回展の重要人物2名とともに、これまでのそしてこれからの - Short Stay- を振り返った。メイン会場SUNDAY ISSUEではこの企画の為に作り上げた新たな作品＆過去の作品を販売。ARTとLOUNGE 、この会場ならではの柔らかな時間とともに最後の1日を締めくくった。
